Margherita Hut
It is located on Punta Gnifetti and is the highest refuge of Europe at 4554 meters. One of the classic summits of Monte Rosa.

Program
Two days to arrive to the highest hut of Europe by crossing the Lys glacier and the main peaks of Monte Rosa.

Day
Vertical gain: 400m
Climbing time: 2h
Meeting point: Staffal ski-lift complex (Gressoney). Equipment check-up and short briefing.
Arrival at Punta Indren (3270m) with the lift. Destination Punta Gnifetti (3647m), more o less 2h from Punta Indren. Dinner and overnight stay.

Vertical gain: 900m
Climbing time: 7-9h
After an early breakfast we leave from Gnifetti hut with crampons and climb the glacier and Punta Parrot, until we arrive to last part of Punta Gnifetti and to Margherita hut at 4554m. After a break at the highest refuge in Europe we go back to the ski-lift of Punta Idren.
