Program
Ascent over two days starting from Valsavaranche and staying overnight at the Vittorio Emanuele Refuge or the Chabod Refuge.
The Gran Paradiso does not present particular technical difficulties and is the only 4000 in completely Italian territory!

Day
Vertical gain: 800m
Climbing time: 2/3h
Meeting point: meeting in Pont Valsavarenche for material check and short briefing.
In just over two hours of walking you can reach the refuge chosen for the overnight stay.

Day
Vertical gain: 1330m
Climbing time: 7-8h
From the refuge, along the path, you reach the glacier which you can travel along without any particular difficulty up to the point where you can reach the real summit via easy rocks!

- 30 Liter backpack

- water bottle/thermos 1 Liter minimum
- energy bars or dried fruit
- high sunscreen lotion and sunscreen lip balm
- first aid kit (space blanket, elasto taping, compeed blister plasters, aspirin, painkillers, etc.)
- headlamp (with new batteries and spare ones)
- personal items (toothbrush, toothpaste, tissues, wet wipes, etc.)
- change of clothes
- wool hat or in fleece fabric on the inside
- buff (neck tubular)
- mountaineering socks (2 pairs)
- sun cap
- undershirt
- gaiters
- windbreaker jacket (Gore-tex fabric)
- 1 pair of light gloves
- 1 pair of warm gloves
- mountaineering sweater
- mountaineering/glacier sunglasses
- mountaineering trousers
