Gran paradiso

With its 4061 m it is a great choice to climb one of the first 4000!

Program

Ascent over two days starting from Valsavaranche and staying overnight at the Vittorio Emanuele Refuge or the Chabod Refuge.

The Gran Paradiso does not present particular technical difficulties and is the only 4000 in completely Italian territory!

Day

Vertical gain: 800m

Climbing time: 2/3h

Meeting point: meeting in Pont Valsavarenche for material check and short briefing.

In just over two hours of walking you can reach the refuge chosen for the overnight stay.

Day

Vertical gain: 1330m

Climbing time: 7-8h

From the refuge, along the path, you reach the glacier which you can travel along without any particular difficulty up to the point where you can reach the real summit via easy rocks!

  • buff (neck tubular)
  • mountaineering socks (2 pairs)

  • windbreaker jacket (Gore-tex fabric)
